A Cheap Publicity Stunt

After a week or more of breathless news items (hopeful speculation?) saying the IRL’s Danica Patrick would grace the USGP this week - a visit to include taking spin in the BAR Honda’s of either Jensen Button or Takuma Sato - the racing world got exactly nada, zip, zilch. Well except for this, a photocall in front of the team garage and a “some time on the track taking members of the US media round for a lap in a Honda NSX road car.”

Well… it was a Honda!

Considering the racing media’s focus on Danica/F1 speculation produced nothing but a photocall maybe I can do better. Sometime within the next 6 weeks Danica Patrick will star in a Honda TV commercial tooling around picturesque Laguna Seca in a… wait for it… Honda NSX road car.

Playing softly in background is It’s not over ’til the checkered flag flies. Hey, it could be worse. She could be doing Paris Hilton burger spots!

WAIT! On second thought… nevermind.
