A Possible Future for Edwards Penalty?
“On March 3, 2008, the National Stock Car Racing Commission heard and considered the appeal of Rusty Wallace Racing. The appeal concerned three penalties issued by NASCAR following post-qualifying inspection on February 15, 2008 for the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Daytona International Speedway.”
You can read the entire ruling here.
Although slightly different than what was found on the #99 this may foretell the final outcome for Edwards and Roush-Fenway Racing.
IN OTHER news you can lose, as in you lose your ride: Mike Skinner will temporarily replace AJ Allmendinger in the #84 Red Bull Camry effective this weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Skinner, a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion, currently races full-time in the #5 Toyota Tundra.
So do we call that the Dinger getting dinged, or getting fried by Frye?

First Jacques Villeneuve, now A.J. Allmendinger. Mike Skinner’s like the Angel of Death. When he comes knockin’ on your door it means you’re losin’ your ride.
Not sure that’s accurate Doug. It was Skinner that originally helped/tutored A.J. when he was first named to that ride.
I think that with the racing commission overturning several of the penalties handed down to the Nationwide teams for similar incidents at Daytona, it could very well be likely that Edwards gets out of this unscaved. I won’t be surprised either way, though.
MeThinks the same way Tim.
But we are talking about NASCAR, and any speculation before an edict is handed out is far from a sure thing.
