A Race Fans Ambrosia !

As I write this it’s a couple hours from the start of the Kansas NEXTEL Cup event. But it is just the desert to a full day of racing that has lasted 15 hours at this point. Glutton - or is it sucker - that I am the day started with a replay of last weeks Talladega event. Johnson and Newman still caused a wreck apiece, nothing’s changed.

Before that was over the Bathhurst 1000km started at Mount Panarama Australia. 6 hours of racing bliss that included one of the most unusual black flag drive through penalties I have ever seen. And it cost the Series points leader from maintaining that lead.

Then it was Suzuka and the penultimate F1 race of the season that proved Kimi is the worlds best driver without a crown and Alonzo hasn’t decided to sit on his duff, he drove the wheels off.

The second event in the A1GP Series was next and what was dominate last week, wasn’t. What showed a possible lack of driving skill confirmed it. And where to hell were the German fans? The crowd looked to be somewhere in the low five figures. Have the Germans forgotten the Brandenberg Gate is only symbolic now? Are they still afraid the stormtroopers will check “their papers” as they enter what used to be East Germany to attend the race?

Anyway, that’s a short summary of this fans ambrosia. Time to take a break and get ready for Kansas. With luck I will figure out where to find the time to write all these race reports.
