Alonzo Captures a Foregone Conclusion
The Brazilian Grand Prix didn’t deliver the fireworks some were predicting, wishing for, or possibly conspiring to happen Renault’s Fernando Alonso won his second successive Formula One title Sunday, finishing second in a Brazilian Grand Prix won by Ferrari’s and Brazil’s local favorite Felipe Massa.
While the World Champion had a workman-like day, his rival for that crown produced another stirring race to end his illustrious career. Schumacher, starting from the tenth spot, ran thru the field and had passed Alonzo teammate Fisichella for fifth when his Ferrari suffered a puncture.
After the tire change and with a full fuel load Schumi retuned to the track in 17th position. With a series of fastest laps he regained sixth just behind Fisichella with 16 laps remaining.

Wow, a rookie winning the title. I may have a little crow to snack on with my low expectations for Juan “don’t call me Bubbacito” Montoya in NASCAR, but you’re setting up an entire flock of dining pleasure with your Heikki prediction.

I dont know about the title but I have no doubt that Hiekki will overpower Fisi next season, he was formidable in WSbR & GP2, I’m amazed that they signed Fisi on for another 2 years.
No trademarking in my endeavors Marc, please use “bubbacito” to your hearts content, just toss me an occaisional attribution. Which is also why I’ll go for my dirt nap a poor man.
As for Fisi, I agree with peter. First of all Renault will be struggling to match their chassis to a new tire. And Fisi seems to be lacking something from his racing character that some would call balls, but I won’t go there, not me. He gets passed more than a…….well, never mind!
The class of the field next year should be Ferrari and Raikkonen, unless the departure of Ross The Rat creates havoc within the organization. But the toad man won’t allow that to happen, Raikkonen should collect his first title.
