Not even in the now familiar end of race spiel that always mentions, “and that was the 572nd NASCAR win for Chevy,” was it noted Chevy won the crown again.

As the Chase has wound down to 4 cars, 4 drivers and 4 events shuffled to the side is Jeff Gordon’s victory Sunday clinched the 2005 manufacturers championship for Chevrolet. It’s their 29th and an even more impressive 25th of NASCAR
