Are They Sure it’s Not a Red Nation Scam?

Jeff Gordon Helmet I guess it’s better to be safe than sorry, but… you have to wonder if this might be perpetrated by some of the more ardent members of Red Nation. (soon to be Red & Green Nation)

A popular NASCAR collectible is being recalled. About 2,500 Jeff Gordon Mini-Helmets have too much lead in the paint. The six-inch tall helmets are made by Riddell, and were sold at several stores nationwide, as well as on NASCAR.com since February.

So does that mean I should hold off on making that awesome call to Dave Despain on Wind Tunnel until the “all clear - no lead” signal is given?

No it means NASCAR will come up with a gun-metal gray flag to be used when excessive lead is detected in the driver schwag trailers.

I want Dave Despain’s Coulthard bobblehead. It’s pre-lead day dated and therefore childproofed.
