At Least Bob Margolis is Consistent
Yahoo Sports chief yahoo is at it again.
Not content with “winning” this weeks Stupid Post of the Day award Bob Margolis is making a concerted effort at scoring the monthly award.
His latest edition Black Eye for Gibbs and Toyota follows the same pattern as the last, wild speculation that everyone including the respective janitors presumably at Toyota and Gibbs Racing knew of and actively participated in or turned a blind eye to the shenanigans at MIS.
I won’t bore you will the details those of you that posted in the previous FT article know Margolis very well, and those that don’t can read his latest at the link provided.
What I will provide is the following email printed verbatim and sent to Mr. Margolis a few minutes ago. Obviously I await any response.
Feel free to add your over/under bets on both the chances of my receiving a response and whether he will print a retraction or name his sources.
Mr. Margolis:
Ref your Daly Dose column of 18 August and your latest column of 21 August I’m concerned about some of the allegations made.
Specifically, charges you made that Toyota at it’s highest levels and Joe Gibbs Racing, also at its highest levels, knew in advance and possibly orchestrated the recent events at MIS regarding the placing of magnets in the Gibbs machines.
Yet, you offer zero proof of those allegations except wild speculation and conjecture.
The obvious question is, when will you “man up” and publish a retraction to what on its face are personal opinions based on thin air, or publish validation for the charges via named sources and quotes from those sources?
For full disclosure, I nominated, your 18 August article as the “NASCAR’s Stupid Post of the Day.” (http://fullthrottle.cranialcavity.net/nascar-stupid-post-of-the-day). Congratulations.

F1 Rage ! (http://f1rage.getshifter.com)

Cant see the dickhead getting back to you Marc, but maintain the rage, somebody has to call for & demand accuracy.
Would he have rage with such passion if it had been a non-Japanese manufacturer?
Interesting point Peter, and one that may point to a clue as a secondary reason (first being he just doesn’t like her) why he was so dismissive of Danica’s Japanese win.
Toyota/Gibbs rage and this fool not approving of Danica’s Japanese win? I think you’ve added 2+2 and come up with 5 on this one Marc. Not agreeing with anything this knucklehead has written, but I can’t make the leap to your possible conclusion.
And that’s coming from someone (me) who has no respect for the Princess of AOR.
5 George, ok but what would 4 be?
It all fits for me. Margolis went all nuclear on The Danica’s win for no reason. If he had had a history of whining about others winning on fuel mileage I’d grant the point, but he doesn’t.
As for his Toyota fixation, it is what it is, another ink-stained wretch playing to the crowd of Toyota haters rather than writing something in close proximity to reality.
I too remember that Margolis article on Princess’s first win [perhaps you can post a link] & it was utterly biased.
Like George, I don’t hold her race pace in any great regard, but a fuel mileage win is a win, at least it was last time I looked.
