Aussie Star Ambrose Doubles-up at The Glen
For the second straight year 2-time Aussie v8 champion Marcos Ambrose has won the Nationwide Series event held at Watkins Glen International.
It was his second career Nationwide win in his 71st series start, and it came in his only NNS start this year for team owners Tad and Jodi Geschickter.
Series leader Kyle Busch finished second (his NASCAR record 10th consecutive first- or second-place finish), followed by points runner-up Carl Edwards, pole-winner Kevin Harvick and Ron Fellows. The back-five were Jeff Burton, Greg Biffle, David Ragan, Brad Keselowski (the highest-finishing Nationwide regular) and Scott Speed.
All told, seven drivers swapped the lead nine times in the 82-lap race. Edwards and Ambrose led the most laps (25 each), followed by Busch (16), Harvick (12), Steven Wallace (2), and Ragan and Speed (1 each). The race was slowed by six cautions for 20 laps and Ambrose’s margin of victory (he took the lead for good with 20 laps remaining) was 1.082 seconds.
Post race winner’s press conference with Marcos, Frank Kerr, Tad & Jodi Geschickter and Brad Daugherty.
More later when post race quotes are released.

Converting to NASCAR from the V8’s is a jump to a new dicipline, ovals etc, but less so on the road courses. Mind you, he must be finding those big heavy beasts a bit less responsive than his old Stone Brothers Ford when on a track like the Glen.
Probably, but he’s had very good runs on ovals in the last two months also with 3 top five and 6 top tens.
P.S. Marcoes is doing a bit better than the Wallabies.
Goooooo, Springboks.
Blah, Blah, Blah……bite me.
I smell the faint odor of sour grapes.
If you can find a video of Sam Hornish’s wreck at the Glen it would be worth posting. It’s difficult to believe he wasn’t seriously injured.
Yeah, okay, I hadn’t read your Glen report before I commented on the Hornish wreck video.
Jumped in both both feet and got them covered with poo didn’t you George?
Impetuous maybe, but “both both” feet in pooh? Nah!
