Brian France: Yeah, Bailouts for Everyone!
NASCAR chairman Brian France says his management group is working with teams to develop new business models that can withstand the current economic crisis.
France, a/k/a People’s Commissar of NASCAR Affairs (PCNA), staff members to meet with race tracks to explore new promotions for ticket sales, to improve opportunities for minorities and females, and focus on environmental issues that can make the sport greener.
While I won’t call this a bad idea, any and everything can help. But it must be said, the number of tracks already with announced ticket price reductions, including ISC owned tracks, are numerous.
Not being privy to NASCAR’s inner sanctum it’s possible PCNA sent out the a squadron of Black Helicopters and did a little arm twisting that resulted on non-ISC ticket prices to tumble a bit. Hey, anything is possible, when you’re grovelling for attendance.
As far as the “greening” of the sport, might I suggest PCNA ring up Jack in the Hat. Roush Fenway Racing is getting greener than Kermit the Frog. (Escape Hybrid’s, solar and wind power Oh My!)
One question. Will the Martinsville hot dogs be discounted, or better yet free to the taking?
