Bwahahahahaha! Wanna Bet Nick !
Nick Fry has warned Lewis Hamilton: “Jenson Button is out to catch you”. (note, Nick didn’t say what century - ed)
The Honda boss vowed the 27-year-old would bury his season of misery and be up with the F1 pacesetters in 2008.
Fry, who signed design mastermind Ross Brawn from Ferrari, said: “I have no doubt Jenson has the ability to be world champion.
“We’ve just got to give him the equipment - that’s where Ross comes in. “Having another young Briton coming straight in and winning races is difficult to handle.
“But Jenson is such a professional (except when playing musical contracts between two teams - ed) and has the character to know that, given a McLaren, he could do it too.”
(Someone gave Jense a McLaren…? Oh wait that’s a “what if” statement. I can play that to, what if elephants were purple? What if Max Mosley were sane? What if F1 Honda had a clue that was on par with their enormous overbloated budget? - ed)
I’ll wager 100 bucks Nick Fry is wrong. Dead wrong

Brawn has his eye on the top job & wants to a seat at the big boys table with the other team principals. The moment he has turned Honda around he will have Tokyo management give Fry the heave ho.
As for Button? A solid mid-fielder who can pull off the occassional podium. He is a tier below the likes of Kimi, Alonso & Lewis.
Better yet!!! I got my Xmas wish, Heikki at McLaren!!! What a compliment for a rookie (like Hamilton) Alonso did not want such a quick team mate…..& now look who Heikki is driving for? LOL p-)
Gotta agree, but I’ve never been on the Jense bandwagon. Good driver but certainly ever the next rule Britannia hope no matter how much they hoped. Hamilton, I gotta admit no matter how much the ingenue attitude makes me want to divest myself of a perfectly respectable vindaloo and mahktani dinner, I think he’s the real deal. The approach may seem a bit nouvelle but I’m actually looking forward to see what happens next with the guy -outside the company politics.
Ross Brawn on the other hand…now there is talent that could turn the team around providing they dig up some fresh driver talent for 2009.
I enjoy the F1 soap operas too, nice distractions from FranceCar!
Sorry to disagree fellas, but Honda’s failures have always been about the car, not the drivers. Rubens may be long in the tooth and the Dear Boy’s reputation for team loyalty sullied by his Williams in again out again contracts, but both are more than serviceable drivers. Rubens is a proven race winner and Jenson actually finished 3rd in the drivers chase only two (I think) years ago.
I can’t believe Ross would take on this challenge if he didn’t have total authority to implement change on a unilateral basis (like most other team principals) and on that basis he will make Honda a contender. Rubens may eventually go, but Jense will see success (wins) with Brawn-Honda.

I agree George, and that includes Ross shit canning the Dear Boy as soon as his contract expires.
That depends on A) how Jense and Ross cohabitate next year and B) who’s available when Jense’s contract is up. You can’t blame any team owner for upgrading their driver if the talent is available.
