Carlos Pardo Posthumously Awarded NASCAR Mexico Series Win

Former NASCAR Mexico Series champion Carlos Pardo passed away Sunday following an accident during the series race at Autodromo Miguel E. Abed. The accident occurred in the final laps of Sunday’s event in Puebla. Pardo was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Rafael Martinez picked up his sixth NASCAR Mexico Series career pole position during Saturday’s qualifying at Autódromo Miguel E. Abed. Martinez, who has two wins in the series’ four previous races at Puebla, will start out on the front row for Sunday’s race alongside Canel’s-Scotiabank-Xtreme teammate Jorge Goeters.
