Deadline Nearing for F1 Race in Bahrain
Having spent too much time in the Gulf State of Bahrain this story hits home for me. In my former life in the US Navy I come to understand that whatever the Royal Family wants it normally gets. There may be a few unpainted doors or unpaved access roads but feel sure it will be a good show. Whats more interesting is what will the crowd turnout be in a part of the world that other than WRC hasn’t shown an outward interest in F1.
The Bahraini minister of housing and employment, Fahmi Al Jowder, says the new Bahrain International Circuit is to be completed only two days before its final FIA inspection on March 7.?All that is still to be done is the addition of the third layer of tarmac,? he said. ?We?ve worked hard to make sure that this project is finished in time to fulfill the expectation of our government and our people.?
