Did DEI Forget Basic Math?

Last time I was in school, admittedly sometime just after the Neanderthal era, four plus one equaled five.

Homer SimpsonThat simple mathematical fact was apparently lost on the so called brain trust at work for DEI (Don’t Expect Interest) when they made up their Watkins Glen Sprint Cup entry list.

So let your [not so] humble corespondent do the math for them:

Martin Truex Jr, owner Teresa Earnhardt.
Ron Fellows, owner Teresa Earnhardt.
Aric Almirola, owner Teresa Earnhardt.
Paul Menard, owner Teresa Earnhardt.

Plus…

Regan Smith, owner Teresa Earnhardt.

Equals five Sprint Cup teams entered.

NASCAR did the math also, as a result NASCAR pulled the plug on the #81 because of the long known rule limiting existing four-team stables to only four entries per race.

Teresa, Max, you need more help than I can give. But I can point you in the correct direction.

  1. lmao. That’s just too funny … and, yet, not very surprising.

  2. NASCAR allows teams to run a fifth car for a rookie driver for a limited number of races a year to allow him to get some experience. DEI thought Regan Smith qualified for that but he had already exceeded the limit so NASCAR didn’t allow it.

  3. Actually there was an exception to this rule.

RCR was allowed to run Terry L. in about 10 events in a fifth car, but they had announced it was part of Terry’s “farewell tour” (yeah see how well that went!) one or two years in advance.

  4. My 5 year old Granddaughter would be happy to tutor…provided she is allowed to choose her own charities to donate to. We can’t let Sponge Bob’s kids go hungry.

  5. OK, I’ll bite… what’s she charge. Maybe if her cost is reasonable we could take up a collection for DEI.
