Didn’t he Say That About BDR Also?
If memory serves correctly Michael Waltrip said of his move to BDR that he was “high on the change” (and now on the bottom third of the standings) and looking forward to working with both Davis and Toyota.
Make of this what you will: Waltrip high on Mayfield.
Michael Waltrip said Mayfield is high on the list to drive a third car next year for his start-up Toyota team, which also will field Camrys for Waltrip and Dale Jarrett.“The ball’s in his court,” Waltrip said of Mayfield. “He knows he would be somebody we would love to talk to about driving our car. All we’ve done so far is just told him that we’ve heard rumors that he was moving along, and if that was the case, we’d love to talk to him about it.”
If Mikey had read FT more often he would know Mayfield already tossed that ball unto another court and is what amounts to a free agent.
Waltrip, Jarrett and Mayfield. Not exactly a dream team, but if Mikey and Toyota are happy who’s to argue.
Well.., maybe Ricky Craven would, who sits home in New Hampshire rideless as the Cuppers are playing in his backyard this week.
On the other hand is this report that claims Mikey offered a ride to Mark Martin. “He says he wants all old guys,” said Martin, who will instead stay with Roush Racing.
