Eight-Time Champ Kimmel on Iowa Podium

Eight-time ARCA RE/MAX Series champion Frank Kimmel overcame a lengthy early pit stop and a late-race penalty to score his first series victory of the season Saturday night at Iowa Speedway, the Prairie Meadows 250.

Kimmel, held off a late-race charge from rookie Michael McDowell for his 69th career series victory in his 335th series start. The victory also marked the ninth different winner in as many events in 2007.

Kimmel started fourth and took the lead for the first time on lap 21 and led 94 of the 250 laps, including the final 37.

Rookie Michael Annett, after earning the SIM Factory Pole Award finished third in his first-ever ARCA RE/MAX Series start.

The lone female entered was Gabi DiCarlo who started from the #20 hole and finished 14th in the Great Clips Ford.

The ARCA RE/MAX Series travels next to Pocono Raceway for the 44th Pocono 200 this coming weekend.
