F1 Back to “Normal” - Ho-Hum !

Normal meaning Alonzo back on the top step and with the exception of Kimi’s drive through the field, no competition to speak of.
”It was quite easy today,” the 23-year-old quipped. ”I have quite a good gap to Kimi, but there is still a very long way to go. We know our rivals will be very quick in Silverstone next weekend.” Alonzo may think it’s still a three way race for the championship but it won’t be if he continues to place on the podium.
For second place finisher Kimi Raikkonen it was a case of what might have been. After being penalized for an engine change he started at the tail of the field and that may have cost him a chance at the win. ”It could have been worse,” the Finn croaked, ”but I could definitely have won today. I aim to do it at Silverstone next week.”
Jarno Trulli faded from his outside pole position to fifth place.
Williams who introduced a heavily revised car for the French Grand Prix has launched an investigation after their dismal performance. Apparently with their home race next week they are running scared with Mark Webber finishing 12th and teammate Nick Heidfeld making six pit-stops with no resolution to his in race problems.
