F1: End of Year Image Gallery
The climax to the 2008 F1 World Championship could represent the peak for a sport that appears to be on the brink of fundamental change. But one thing will endure regardless of how the sport changes in the future, the spectacular images captured during 2008.
Below are a few of the “action images” that caught my eye and well… one that’s not so much action depicted, but action desired.
If you get my drift.
- Massa enters the Swimming Pool complex during qualifying at Monaco
- Vettel rips through the standing water at Monza on his way to victory
- Singapore's night race provided a unique challenge for drivers and photographers alike
- Sutil leaves a huge rooster tail of spray in his wake during practice at Monza
- Mark Webber's Red Bull hugs the apex through the Parabolica during testing at Monza
- Hamilton threads his McLaren through the floodlit streets of Singapore
- A broom was the most high-tech tool BMW could muster to keep its garage from flooding at Monza
- This Honda fire was a precuser to the teams final emolation post season
- Fisichella's Force India bottoms out through the compression at Eau Rouge
- Rubens Barrichello blasts through Eau Rouge at Spa-Franchorchamps, still F1's most spectacular corner
- Vettel explores the limit of the STR3's grip during Friday practice at Interlagos
- Massa struggles to hold his emotions together on the podium in Brazil
- All good things must come to an end. Or, have one!

That shot of Sutil looks like he is being powered by a rocket. What a fantastic photo.
