F1 Honda “Over-Achieved”
The title comes courtesy of The Jense after miraculously achieving the near impossible during qualifying at Shanghai. Placing his Honda in tenth on the grid.
“I am happy, and to be honest a little surprised, to be in the top ten again this weekend. It was unexpected but we were able to get the best out of the car today and have over-achieved in terms of where this car should be qualifying, which is a nice feeling.” - Jenson Button.
“Over-Achieved” is the F1 Word of the Day.
The Dear Boy’s time should have landed him in the Land of Spyker and just ahead of Sakon Yamamoto in twenty first spot. By virtue of a bunch of crappy runs by others Jense made it to Q3 and the resulting tenth spot on the grid.
Can you spell R.O.L.L.I.N.G. R.O.A.D.B.L.O.C.K?
The downward spiral of Honda has been amazing. In 2006 the team scored points 22 times, including a win in Hungry, between Button and Rubens Barrichello. This year they have cashed points twice with two events remaining.
I can’t help but think it’s time to rethink that Google Earth paint scheme on Buttons ride. Maybe something that resembles the logo of the Cunard White Star Line would be more appropriate to F1 Honda’s efforts.

The Dear Boy can drive well in the rain and the predictions for the race are wet. Maybe Honda and Jense can score a podium or even…………Sorry, kinda lost touch with reality there.
