Ferrari V10 Still Lives, if Only For a Day

Ferrari V10

And you thought Schumacher’s last V10 ride was turned into an Italian sardine can. As you can see by the image at least one is still around.

Test driver Luca Badoer, and the smoking’spinning V10, was one of the featured attractions during the opening ceremony for the Winter Olympics in Turin Italy. Rumor has it the Italian “judge” for the event gave Luca a perfect 10 for his perfect execution of a double toe-loop with a twist. The French judge is under investigation for giving the first ever negitive score (-8) in an Olympic event.

In more serious Ferrari news (or not depending on your view of Rossi) F1 Central is reporting via Motocycle News Valentino Rossi is on the verge of deciding to switch full time to F1 in 2007. A friend of Rossi’s as saying that the 26-year-old is ‘very close’ to saying yes to Ferrari. Italy’s La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper said that Rossi’s switch very much depends on what Michael Schumacher decides to do.

So take your pick Rossi fans, he will, he won’t. Truth be told it doesn’t look like “news,” just more speculation.

  1. hey, thought i’d let you know, just saw the preview for Talladega Nights. I laughed out loud. Will Ferrel is a very funny man.

    check it out here: http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/talladeganights/index.html

“I really thought I could feel it.”

    good stuff.

  2. Sorry Kevin, the chances of me looking at even the preview of this piece of trash are slim to none.

Ferrell hasn’t made anything worth dog squat since his days on SNL and any NASCAR title that perpetuates the “Bubba” (Ricky Bobby?!”) image isn’t worth my time.

Glad you enjoyed your sneek peek but I agree with Monte Dutton it will do a dis-servce to the sport and NASCAR shouldn’t have been involved.

  3. Before one can laugh at others, one needs to learn to laugh at one’s self. I apply that to my life, and wha’t s wrong with NASCAR applying the same philosophy? While it may not be my brand of humor, I have to respect the effort behind it. Even if it perpetuates the redneck image.
And if you go to any of these races live you will find a lot of redneck wannabes.

  4. hav to agree with george. i hate that as a race fan (and more a fan of open wheel than nascar) i am often stereotyped as a redneck. the redneck population is far greater than the population of otherwise at races i go to (except indy). nascar is what it is. ferrel has a huge draw and i would say that you’re the minority of people that have not found ferrel’s movies very funny. the people that will watch this movie are most likely unknowledgable of racing in general and we can only hope for now that this will shed some light on our sport to these people.

  5. Ah thanks Kevin for making my point better than I.

“the people that will watch this movie are most likely unknowledgable of racing in general and we can only hope for now that this will shed some light on our sport to these people.”

I suspect the draw of Ferrell’s name will draw non-NASCAR fans and at a time the organization is all about ‘diversity” and shedding the good ole boy image this isn’t the way to do it.

    It only perpetuates the myth.
