Flavio, Just Shut Up, and Manage Your Pathetic Football Club
Flavio Briatore, the disgraced former team manager of Renault, claims he’s through with F1, forever. Now, if you’re are a believer in the Easter Bunny you may also believe Flava Flavio, personally I don’t but that’s just me.
“I will never manage another team in Formula One in my life, this is sure, but I have got my dignity back which is important after 20 years in the sport,” he told The Daily Mirror.
“We had the report of FIA and the report of the stewards and there was not evidence that I was involved in the accident. This is official. Done by FIA. Simple.”
Official and done by the FIA he says.
What he fails to mention is the French court didn’t rule on his guilt or innocence, in fact they lowered the cash awarded for damages to a paltry 15,000 Euros from the million he asked for.
That says a lot.
On the other hand, he’s a millionare who has this on his arm so its not such a bad thing to avoid the F1 paddock.

Clown! If he wants to claim a legal “victory” let him. The court only protested the FIA process, not the finding. His saying that he will never return is confirmation of what we suspected, he is PNG in the paddock with teams, sponsors & drivers, & would have no role to return to. Regardless of the QP connection with Bernie, as an owner, I suspect Bernie would not want him within a mile of the paddock as he is tainted for life.
Pity, as there were aspects of his approach to the sport that were quite sensible. His stance on providing entertaining racing, reining in costs & exotic technology that does nothing for the show was right on target. Alas, he flushed the whole thing down the shitter. As big an idiot as Piquet was for his involvement in the scandal, to my mind, Flavio was the bigger villain, he was meant to be the fools manager & should have quashed the plan the moment it was suggested. Further, Flavio put Renault in a potentially very dangerous situation, the FIA could have fined/suspended the team putting the entire operation at risk.
Begone & never return.
Flava-Flav may have brought many things to F1, but I would never associate his name with the word dignity. Or self respect. Or ethics for that matter.
If he has common sense (highly doubtful) he would follow your advice Peter.
Peter, at to his involvement with QP, I’ve seen several stories claiming they are looking at it and he may be forced out of his portion of ownership of the club.
True or not I haven’t clue 1 as I don’t follow that sissified sport.
Marc if the FA starts introduce character checks on club owners they won’t have any owners left. Jesus! Murdoch owned Man United!
Besides, in the scheme of things, Flavio’s sins pale compared to Roman Abramovich or Thaksin Shinawatra. Briatore is not responsible for any murders.
Was not there a similar outcry in the U.S recently, didn’t that hate monger Rush want to buy a minority stake in a NFL team?
Back on the subject of Flavio, I think he is more galled by not being allowed to manage drivers. He made a tidy sum (20%) on his stable of junior drivers. Methinks this is what he will sue the FIA on, restriction of trade.
The other side of that coin is, who in their right mind would allow Flav to be involved with a young driver?…….unless he was writing some cheques for stints in the lower formulas, maybe? I dunno.
Begone & never return.
Well yes nitwit Rush did try, that said the vast majority of outcry was based on made up quotes.
Regarding Rush, conservatives (like other interests) are concerned with preserving their domains; no way the other owners of NFL franchises were going to welcome a bomb thrower of any political persuasion in their midst.
