Ever the conspiracy theorist aren't you George?

To be honest I wouldn't be surprised either. Although given Homesteads configuration, like a mini Indy, a motor with 50hp less than normal may put you in 39th on the starting grid.

And, how about the 38th spot for Jimmie Johnson? And the teams disappearance from the garage after qualifying? Mysterious? Not really, Jeff Gordon pulled the teams funding in an effort to reduce his competition for a fifth title! Or, the kind of "Team Orders" that I have been afraid would eventually show up. Kind of goes hand in hand with Tony Kanaan's observations of NASCAR, doesn't it? Can't wait to hear the explanations for this one!

I thought the same concerning Petty and the Evernham engines. I was going to write something on the subject but was sidetracked by the phone ringing off the hook and the kids begging for attention.

I also noticed 8 of the 13 DNQ's had 3 digit car numbers. A little unusual, but not surprising considering it's the last race of the year and attracted more entries.

Go Kurt Bucsh or Martin as my darkhorse candidate.

Maybe it's just me, the sad part of qualifying is Kyly Petty not making the field. Hopefully next season will be better with Evernham Dodge motors under the bonnet.
