Formula 1 Ferrari Kills 88 Year Old Man

Provocative headline isn’t it?

Did Schumacher make road pizza out of a pensioner?

Maybe Rubens Barrichello flattened the old coot while turning a few hot laps at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal?

Not everything is as it seems. It was a case of “scooter rage.”

A disabled pensioner riding a mobility scooter painted in the livery of Michael Schumacher’s Formula 1 Ferrari ran down and killed an 88-year-old man, an inquest heard yesterday.

Witnesses said that the buggy, with a top speed of 8 mph, was going too fast. Ernest “Jim” Carpenter, of Brighton, died of head injuries after the red ShopRider buggy, with Schumacher’s name written on the back, hit his Zimmer frame.

Peter Jenkinson, 66, a triple heart bypass patient, told the inquest in Eastbourne, Sussex, that he stopped his scooter on the seafront but ran into Mr Carpenter when he moved off.

Alan Craze, the East Sussex coroner, recorded a verdict of accidental death.

Nope, I guess not. Michael hasn’t hit a speed of 8mph all year. :-)

  1. You can do some major damage at 8mph. I’m serious!!!!! Really, though, 8mph on a scooter killed a guy? This is funny. You suppose one guy cut the other one off in traffic? That’s how these things usually happen.

  2. Yea I thought it was pretty funny myself. But then again, I don’t take too many things seriously.
