Full Throttle is Influential!

Don’t ask why ’cause I haven’t a clue.

It must be my animal magnetism, stellar attention to detail and prodigious purveyor of bovine excrement, ’cause I didn’t pay them a dime.

“NASCAR blogs are among the most informed and intelligent across all sports. Bloggers who focus their efforts on team sports generally have an inside track, yet they limit analysis to their favorite competitors.

However, the best NASCAR blogs illuminate their favorites and also showcase a particularly well-honed general knowledge and analysis of the sport,” says Kathleen Hessert President of Charlotte, NC based Sports Media Challenge.

Here’s the list based on a number of factors including influence, community and relevance:

1. The Daly Planet

2. From the Marbles

3. One Bad Wheel

4. Bench Racing with Steve and Charlie (NOTE: Thanks to Luke, who should be on the list, here’s Steve and Charlie’s new digs)

5. Restrictor Plate This

6. Answer this

  1. Since Darren is the main honcho at both the Yahoo site and One Bad Wheel, and Steve and Charlie count as one, does this make me fourth in the pecking order even though I’m #5?

    Call me Casey Mears.

  2. “Casey,” is that the new math they started teaching after I left school?

  3. Since it came after Roman numerals, you might have missed it.  (Like I’m one to be calling someone old!)

I’ve noticed something about the list.  Of those among us who are on it and have mentioned it on our blogs — you, me, Bob, TGoM, and Daly — four of us ran it with the entire list intact, including links.

Guess which one didn’t, instead turning the whole thing into an ode to himself and his noble cause…

  4. No surprise!

Also a bit funny considering they are about to shut the place down and convert to into a full blown forum so fans can bring into the discussion “their own topics.”

Lotas luck with that. They think moving will solve their problems with spam and off color postings wait ’til the the nutjobs and xenophobes invade the place.

  5. Congrats Mark. Well deserved. Maybe instead of Daly writing grousing everyday, he could simply change the channel on his tv.

  6. Thanks Mike.

If Daly did that he’d have no reason for being.

  7. You have to give Daly some credit. He has the self promotion gig down pretty good. My dad told me too many years ago to “worry about your customers, not your competition.” Just keep putting out the good stuff as you always do and the insincere ones will fade. This is a great blog - one of the first that I found when I started looking around. Tenth isn’t close.

  8. Thanks Charlie, you’re the Greatest, and bestest!

  9. Thanks George, it’ll be interesting where this goes. When I received the email announcement I expected to see some sort of change in their home page, i.e. top ten NASCAR blogs on the right, vice the NHL ones now posted.

As yet I see no change.
