Happy Birthday Cousin Carl!

Happy Birthday Cousin Carl!

Ref MagnetsIf you’re going to have a birthday on the Friday before a race weekend at MIS I guess the only way to celebrate is to show everyone your tailpipe.

And that’s just what Carl Edwards did by winning Saturday’s NNS event in convincing style then leading the most laps and pulling away from Kyle Busch Sunday for a weekend sweep.

Happy Birthday Cousin Carl.

As is the norm, Jack Roush made use of his MIS time share (is there another excuse for his dominance there?) and all five of his Roush-Fenway Fords finished in the top ten.

As if that wasn’t enough the Roush-Fenway performance continued all the way to the Great White North.

Jack Roush Jr. drove his Roush Racing/Valvoline Mustang to a fifth place finish in the Grand-Am KONI Challenge event in the Grand Prix de Trois Rivieres. It was the third top ten in the last three events for Roush Jr.

More later, but I have one lingering question. Of all the refrigerator magnets pictured above which one do you guess where discovered under the go pedal’s of Stewart and Logano Saturday?

The obvious choice would be the the Nerds magnet, it would take a real techy-nerd to come up with that cheat. Hell it rivals some dreamed up by Smokey Yunick.

On the other hand, and looking at in from hind sight, the Rocky Road magnet might be more appropriate given the 150pt, if not 200pt slap that’s coming later in the week.

In a bit of shameless self promotion be sure you grab yer magnets and head over to the Full Throttle Club and vote in the latest poll: “What should the Joe Gibbs penalty be for the NNS infraction?”
