Harvick Who Motorsports?
With all the NASCAR teams branching out with tie-ups to various business partnerships it’s to be expected Kevin and Delana Harvick wouldn’t be ones left behind the curve.
What is surprising is the direction they are taking, Happy is getting, dare I say it… happy, with drag racing the AA Fueler type. (Bruton see what you’ve done?)
Hey, what the hell, if ya can’t be at the top of the rung why climb the ladder right?
Kevin Harvick, Inc. announced that they will be teaming with Top Fuel driver Bob Vandergriff Jr. in hopes of fielding a AA Fueler in 2009.
“I think we have a unique opportunity to provide unprecedented reach for companies looking to achieve their objectives through motorsports,” Vandergriff said. “As this deal evolves, we want to offer the companies aligned with Harvick-Vandergriff Motorsports the chance to use the best of NHRA and NASCAR through the same program. We’ll have the capabilities to provide something no other team can offer.“I’m extremely excited about this opportunity with Kevin and his wife DeLana. Our ideas of how to market our motorsports programs and our long-term goals are the same.”
Ok, here comes the inquiring minds what to know question: Will we soon see another round of sponsor poaching? How soon will UPS jump David Reutimann’s ship for both Harvick’s NNS operation and the second AA Fueler for Harvick-Vandergriff Motorsports?
That’s pure unadulterated speculation on my part but nothing is out of the question in the “new” NASCAR.
I also want to know who gets to drive the fueler first, Kevin or Delana.
UPDATE: Ok I’m a bit slow on the uptake, so shoot me. I was aware Joe Gibbs was into selling his own brand of motor oils, I’ve even seen the Joey Lagano ad for it. But I didn’t know he was marketing the stuff in Australia. (See page 2 of enews.)
