Hendrick Haters Get Thrown Red Meat

Burton Busch Las Vegas

Nothing will get a rise out of the Anti-Hendrick Clan™ than seeing one of The Despised, Kyle Busch, be ever so close to a win and lose due to a spin and crash into the retaining barrier while crossing under the checkers.

Nothing!

They must be in high cotton about now.

And noshing on Mortadella Skewers and Prosciutto-Wrapped Grilled Asparagus looking down on the rest of us eating our more pedestrian “Race Day Grub” as provided by Mike Skinner’s wife Angela.

But such is life in the Busch Series fast lane. There are winners (actually 2 in this case, more later) and losers, 41 of them to be exact.

On this day (Osama bin Laden’s B-Day BTW, can we send him an exploding B-Day cake?) it was Burton, Jeff, the one that actually makes a starting field, that crossed under the flag to take take the win.

Tony Stewart (how were them tires and track Smoke? To your liking?), Kurt Busch and David Stremme rounded out the top five.

The other “winner” was The Tasmainian Devil who despite an early race spin came back to finish a more than respectable 10th. With the finish he takes over the lead in the Rookie standings from Montoya who’s day resembled a tamale flattened by a Pruett transporter.

IN OTHER possibly related news, will NASCAR sanction sled dog races in the future? The venue would be cold enough, we’ll have to wait and see.

On the other hand it may be possible to attend a NASCAR race and witness a hockey game break out.

And remember, the cats out of the bag. Elliott Sadler win the 400 on Sunday.

UPDATE: One member of the Anti-Hendrick Clan™ has become “Repentant One.”

  1. Go Burton!! Anyone but the shrub!!!

  2. Not being particularly fond of HMS myself… well it was a gr8t finish with or without Baby Busch getting slammed.

I’m going to start lobbying for that sled race right here… the ice on Lake George will easily hold 100,000 spectators!

  3. I am all for the dog sleds and hockey. My heart, as you can imagine, was broken when Baby Busch bit it.

  4. I had guessed you might like the sled dogs and hockey. And baby Busches.
