Heres’ a Nice Bit of “Spin” by AAA
The AAA car club previewed its NEXTEL Cup Series #6 AAA Ford Fusion at the North American International Auto (NAIA) Show in Detroit today. Not an unexpected occurance considering the NAIA is THE PLACE for the Detroit auto makers to roll out both their production models and the years newest concept vehicles.
What caught my eye in this story was the spin put on the announcement by the Nation’s largest motoring club.
AAA has partnered with Roush Racing to serve as the primary sponsor of the #6 racecar during the next three racing seasons, 2006 through 2008. Legendary racecar driver Mark Martin deferred his retirement for one year to continue piloting the #6 racecar on behalf of AAA in 2006.
I must have dreamed the entire McMurrary/K. Busch fiasco. Silly me… here all along my thoughts were Martin stuck around a year past his self imposed expiration date out of respect for Roush Racing and not “on behalf of AAA.” Silly, silly Me!
