Hey You Get the Lead OUT!
Someone ’splain this to me…
A Cup car has a minimum weight but no maximum weight. So why is it J.J. Yelley’s #96 was held in the inspection bay at Chicagoland Speedway by NASCAR officials until shortly before the start, sent to the rear of the field, and then penalized with a stop & go after taking the green flag.
All because they found two water bottles filled with lead vice H2O.
Plus, additional penalties for the infraction will be announced next week, NASCAR officials said.
The only scenario I can brain fart storm is the car was spot on minimum weight and it would have been possible for the bottles be passed to the pit crew during a stop with the result being a lighter car.
If that’s the case, someone is out of their frickin’ skull to think that little weight would make much of an advantage.
