I Went to a NASCAR Pool Party and a Fight Broke Out!
It may look small and inconspicuous, but a pool house is at the center of two lawsuits and a physical assault between two neighbors. Now the question on the minds of many homeowners is what’s next?
Two neighbors, one who supports NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Todd Bodine and another who doesn’t, got into a fight over the pool house located on Bodine’s property in Moorseville N.C..
“An innocent person who cares so much about this community was hurt pretty bad. So it’s very difficult for us and we’re all scared,” says Janet Paczkowski, a friend of one of the women involved in the attack.
Some fear for their friendships, while others fear they could be attacked next.
“I’m scared. I’m very scared for this community. To have it result in this,” explains Paczkowski.
Neighbors say the pool house is the center of the controversy. Vincent Cairelli is relatively new the neighborhood, but he says, “It’s a shame that a small little incident such as this pool house being built has torn this neighborhood apart.”
It’s owned by Todd Bodine, whose lawyer did not let him comment on Wednesday. But it was the focus of the last Homeowners Association meeting.
“It’s completely torn apart here. Everybody is putting their homes up for sale,” explains Paczkowski.
The dispute, according to neighbors, is whether the building is one large pool house, or a small pool house with an attached covered patio. Either way, a majority of the neighbors we spoke with feel it’s time the Homeowners Association dropped their lawsuit.
“A lot of people in the community feel the same as I, that enough is enough,” says Cairelli.
Neighbors say it will take a two-thirds vote from the entire neighborhood to drop the lawsuit. So far 80 homeowners are on board, but the required number is more than 120.

My God! NASCAR nation really is a soap opera.
In the highest echelon of motorsport, F1, participants & officials know how to conduct themselves professionally.
You want soap opera read this “get together” between Boris Said and Marco Ambrose.
Boris let his mouth write a check his ass won’t be able to cash if he thinks he can get the better of the Devil Racer.
Sounds like my neighborhood. I once got cited by the Landscape Gestapo because I used rocks as a border around my trees and flower beds and was informed that rocks are only allowed in yards where the houses have light-colored brick. My house has dark-colored brick.
Doug, you highlite one reason why I don’t miss living in the states one single bit.
I would have told them to bite my posterior and put the house up for sale.
Haha. That’s just funny.
like ur blog..it’s simple and awesome

btw thanks for linking me
ahhhh…PeterG, you say that F1 officials know how to conduct themselves, so I guess the name Max Mosley doesn’t mean anything to you? Furthermore, Bodine had nothing to do with the altercation. It involves homeowners who live in the same development as Bodine. So perhaps you should read a bit more carefully before casting aspersions on an entire sport.
Steve, you’ve obviously missed the very heavy sarcasm in Peter’s comment. I suggest you read my many posts on the Mosley scandal and you’ll understand.
I would also like to know who did any casting of “aspersions” in the post or the many comments, I fail to see any.
Perhaps you should read a little better.
