Is NASCAR Chairman Brian France Whistling Past a Cemetary?
It sounds like it, he claims to be very happy with the new “Chase” point system. He states NASCAR will keep the new points system in place for next year, satisfied that the closest championship race in history is proof that the 10-race playoff structure works better than expected.
More like whistling all the way to the bank. What could be better? One to go, two young guns ( Johnson & Busch), a rebel without a cause (Junior), a four time champ (need I say his name?) and a grey beard (Martin), all with a chance to win. If you ain’t watchin’ next week, you ain’t a fan!
No doubt France (Brian) has issues to conrtend with, “The Chase” isn’t one of them. Dumb luck? Maybe, but it worked!
I’ll’ stick with my doubts, this years close points race may turn out to be an abberation over the long run. I will admit MSNBC’s sport page had the current top ten in points listed as compiled useing the 2003 system and it was just as close, within 100 points if memory serves.
I’ll also point out the team factor, and Dale seems to be the odd man out. Johnson and Gordon are teamates as are Martin and Busch. I’ll be watching how that plays out as much as who is leading at any one point.
Brian France has got to be one of the stupidist persons there is……………this new points system sucks……..if the points aren’t broken leave them the hell alone….Bush is not the nascar champion….he is the Brian France champion….I have said from the start he had his head up his butt for changing the points…..it took him very little time to ruin nascar and what it stood for………I have been following nascar for several years now but I have watched my last nascar (brian france) race….I have bought my last ticket, attended my last (brian france) nascar race……..

But you are correct “Bush” isn’t the champ, he won the recent election. Busch won the NEXTEL Cup.
Just two questions. Are you a Gordon or Johnson fan?
And secondly, when Kenseth failed to win a race last year, yet still won the NASCAR title were you also upset then?
okay Busch………..doesn’t matter………….he is still the Brian France champion…..the real nascar champion was crowned last year year…….before Dumb ass Brian ruined NASCAR …and no i am not a Gordon or Johnson fan…..I am (was) a NASCAR fan….as far as drivers……….I follow Mark Martin……Last years championship was given to the driver that was more consistance…………..based on last years points…..your Brian France champ would have ended up 4th……….how many races did he win…..how many did JR win….how many did Johnson win………Brian France is still a Dumb ass for screwing up NASCAR
