Pardon me if I have a bit of a chuckle over this, but it is comical, in a way and only because he wasn’t seriously hurt. Jimmie Johnson sliced his left middle finger with a knife while in Daytona Beach, Fla., for the Rolex 24 where his team finished seventh in class.

Reportedly he was awoken for his next driving stint hurrying to make a hole in his uniform to insert a cooling tube, grabbed a knife and tried to cut an opening into the fabric. He said the knife pierced through the uniform and sliced his finger.

”It got me pretty good,” Johnson told The Associated Press. ”Cut right through the fabric to where my finger was on the other side.”

Stay with me here, but could this be some type of Oman for the 2009 season? He broke his left wrist, while drunk on his ass, following his first Cup title (and before his second) when he toppled off a golf cart during a charity tournament.
