You couldn’t ask for a better start to this year’s Chase after looking at the results of its first event at NHIS. Well, maybe some could. But as a writer you couldn’t ask for much more.

While I see race “control’s” point, I have to ask; When you start shotgun on the field of 43 just what was the spotter needed for? The only threat to the #27 Chevy would’ve been if the driver he had been blinded by the exhaust smoke of the other 42 starters?

I suspect so. Sorry, while mathmatics says otherwise the history of the trials and tribulations of Smoke, Newman, Mayfield and Busch (the newlywed) at NHIS is the tail of the tape for me.
Both the Hendricks boys are toast, unless the nearly impossible happens, five or six more in the top ten have similar miserable finishes.
