Kasey Kahne “Kuffed” and Released

This sounds to me like an overreaction by the security guard in question. Among other things.

Sometime Friday at Homestead Kasey Kahne was rushing back to his motorhome that was parked in a secure area. Although in his drivers uniform he didn’t have his mandatory security pass on his person and was stopped by a guard

Kahne, still in his driving uniform, attempted to walk around the guard and, according to the spokesman, the two bumped and, when Kahne turned around, the guard was on the ground.

Police were called and Kahne spent several minutes in handcuffs before being released. The security guard was checked and released at the infield medical center.

A police spokesman said the incident is under investigation by detectives and he was not at liberty to talk about specifics.

My first thought was, DUMMY! However how many drivers conduct their final Cup practice while wearing their security badge. So Kasey gets a pass in my book.

Secondly, what planet is the security guard from that he can’t recognize one of NASCAR top stars? Geesh Marie, what does it take a hand carried flip chart of all the drivers photos? Maybe Homestead should hire only female security guards, bet there would never be this type mistake again. Maybe to a Morgan Shepard type but not one of NASCAR’s “Young Guns.”

And finally is the reaction of the local police. Was it really necessary to put iron bracelets on Kahne?

Musta thought he was an al-Qaeda infiltrator. Yeah, that’s it.

  1. Barney Fife strikes again. I thought he had gone to work for Homeland Security cracking down on little old ladies attempting to blow up airliners, but I guess I was wrong.

  2. THE SECURITY GUY HAD TO HAVE LAYED DOWN, CAUSE KASEY AIN’T BIGGER THAN A MINUTE!!!

  3. from what was said yesterday and on other sites, Kahne’s brother did not have the right credentials. Please review your information before slandering someone on the net…thanx

I am a HUGE Kasey Kahne fan but NO one has the right to put down someone when they dont have the correct information

  4. I agree with Carol. I’ll bet the security guard has a laywer now, with visions of hitting the lottery!

  5. Emily, it’s painfully obviously you are a “HUGH Kasey Kahne” fan.

And that self admission has led you to a position unsustainable by the facts as stated in the post. Perhaps I missed it, can you give me a direct quote of anything I wrote that can be remotely classified as “slander?”

The only thing close was my first impression that Kahne acted like a “dummy,” but that was VERY QUICKLY followed by a conclusion he should be given a pass and the incident was more the fault of the guard than anyone else.

Feel free to make shit up to sate your Kahne fandom, but don’t expect to get the same free pass I gave him.
