Katrina Help continued…

Katrina Heart

The preceding post was getting a “bit too big for it’s britches,” and I thought this information was important enough to rate a second post with this information at the top, vice buried deep into the entry. This post and the preceding one will remain at the top for the next few days.

Many in the racing community have friends or relatives that have been effected by Katrina. Many of the same people also have relatives that may be overseas serving our country in the US Military. The following resources are provided to offer assistence for those deployed and Stateside.

Contact info for military families displaced by Katrina (also a great collection of news releases on the military efforts in hurricane relief)

Info for Guard families impacted by the storm.

Info for getting deployed Guard members in touch with their families who might be displaced by the storm - and vice versa.

Again, as before, if you have any other useful information please drop the links into the comments section and I will update this post.

UPDATE: Jimmie Johnson and sponsor Lowe’s will donate $480 dollars to the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts for each of the 250 laps Johnson’s No. 48 Chevrolet completes on Sunday at California Speedway. In addition, Lowe’s will donate $4,800 and Johnson and his wife Chandra will donate $48,000, regardless of the race outcome.
