Kenny Wallace Takes Home Win

Energy was high on and off the track at Macon Speedway for the Night of NASCAR Stars on Thursday night, their second of three nights scheduled for the 2007 season. NASCAR stars Marcus Ambrose, Jason Leffler, Stephen Leicht, Mike Wallace, Steve Wallace, J.J. Yeley, Kyle Busch, Casey Mears, Bobby Labonte and David Reutimann along with Ray Evernham and Aaron Pierce raced modifeds side by side with Macon Speedway co-owners Kenny Wallace and Ken Schrader.

Kenny Wallace took the checkered flag for the win in the star-studded Modified feature in front of a full capacity crowd on their feet.

The 25 lap race featured all of the visiting NASCAR drivers and one owner, Ray Evernham, who seemed to lose control of his car frequently through the turns.

  1. Marc I had a chance last night to watch the ISMA super modifieds race at Toledo Speedway, along with winged sprint cars in a show that the Toled Speedway folks bill as the Fastest Short Track show in the world. I gotta say, it was exciting as hell. Johnny Benson Jr., whose dad is a modified legend, competed and Tony Stewart came down after qualifying at MIS, just to watch. This type racing never gets the pub that it’s excitement deserves. Hopefully these NASCAR superstars will use their celebrity to make grass roots racing types more visible. The Toledo show was awesome.

  2. Yep, I agree. I’ve spent many nights at Toledo watching both the mods and USAC Sprints and Midgets and the show is always one of the years best.
