Matt Kenseth won Saturday night’s Busch race at PIR, beating 2006 champion Kevin Harvick to the flag, after starting the race from pole. The result means Harvick can only tie the the Busch series record of ten wins in a single season. His Phoenix victory was his ninth of 2006, with one round remaining at Homestead and the Ford 300.

The difference in the race came in the final round of pit stops. Kenseth, who earlier had pit miscues, stopped with just over 30 laps to go and his crew was perfect and sent his Ford out in the lead.
