To the NASCAR drivers who win their races and then proceed to spin their tires and create all the smoke: Do you not realize that you are putting PCBs into the environment with that practice?My suggestion to maintain at least a semblance of clean air is to stop that stupid polluting tradition. It should be against the law.

Why he/she/it decided to wait four months after the Cup guys left Chicagoland to rant is beyond me, but I digress. (Hey stupid, maybe it was all those PCB’s from one victory celebration and it has slowed the brains function by 4 months?)
Anyway, he/she/it seems not to be cognizant of one important fact. The United States Congress banned the domestic production of PCBs in 1977, although some use continues in closed systems such as capacitors and transformers. And Goodyear tires are not considered a “closed system,” nor are the racing tires manufactured outside the U.S.
In addition, Goodyear’s method to chemically dispose of hazardous PCBs produced in it’s production process received the 1981 Environmental Industry Award in the field of hazardous waste control.
Moreover I’d suggest if he/she/it were so darned concerned about tire smoke condemnation should be lain at the feet of companies such as International Paper Company (not to mention hundreds of local wrecking yards) who annually burn about 1 million tires a year as a replacement for fuel oil.
A by product of that is an increase of fine particulates, zinc oxide and dioxins pumped into the air at an astonishing rate.
I’d further suggest you turn your concern from a single smoky burn-out by a single car on a single day to your immediate east. Contamination of Lake Michigan continues through fallout of PCBs from the air. And they damn sure didn’t come from Tony Stewart’s Chevy, or his Goodyears, last July.
And finally, he/she/it, I’d suggest you JUST SHUT UP!

Regarding Ann, I’m actually quite conservative BUT she on the other hand is just plain stupid.Her comments on Canadian troops in “Vietnam & Indo China” were the funniest thing I have ever heard. It’s a pity the camera didn’t catch her face when Australian troops in Vietnam were mentioned as I’m sure she was ignorant of that as well.
As for Rosie, I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for her. Her Donald Trump, a moral compass for Twenty year-olds, comment my me laugh. Anybody that can incurr the anger of self promoter & marketing whore Donald Trump is ok in my book.

Does she actually think they are running Prius’s out there? To all news media reporting on motorsport–or any sport! Make sure they have the most tenuous grasp on what they are reporting before they start ad-libbing! Green living is not a MySpace page.
