Really! Honestly!
Unless your a Will Ferrell sycophant having over-dosed on the Kool-aid he was selling, the Pixar flic Cars is, The Best, NASCAR movie of all time.
It had everything. Likable characters, excellent animation, a believable storyline and best of all those three parts all paid homage to the history of NASCAR.
Beside that, what would a movie be without Tractor Tipping? Come on it has to be a requirement at this point. If the 3,973th remake of Titanic is ever made and doesn’t include Tractor Tipping well… forgetabout it! No more Golden Statues will be needed!
According to the Pixar blog (unofficial I assume) a Cars 2 is in the works at the Pixar Studios.
The downside is I have no idea of the accuracy of the site and they place release of Cars 2 in 2011! Five years between the original and a sequel seems to be excessive. I have seen others note production and a release sometime in 2009 which is a little more realistic.
But what the hell do I know about animated movie production. All I can do is hope the reports are true and continue to play my board game with the kids.

Good news! (assuming its true) Of course, I’ll likely have to relive that awkward moment when my 6 year old daughter leaned over to me in the theatre during the movie and half-giggled / half-whispered “I just love Mater. He sounds just like you Daddy.” Painful, simply painful.
