Mansfield’s Pole Gets “Pyle’d” on

Robbie Pyle, driving the No. 63 Citgo Chevrolet captured his first ASA Jani-King pole award of the season with a run of 16.552-seconds (108.748 mph) around the .50-mile Mansfield (Ohio) Motorsports Speedway. This makes the fifth different Jani-King pole winner in all five races this season.
?When I came in (after the run) the tire guys gave me a thumbs up so I knew we were there at that time, but I thought we would get beat,? Pyle said.
All cars made their scheduled starting runs so there was no second round qualifying needed.
Joey Miller in the No. 15 Great Clips Chevrolet looped the car through the second turn, making a smoky 360 degree spin. Miller kept it off the wall and drove away.
Pyle was followed in time by Kris Stump, Travis Kittleson, Wade Day and Joey Logano who is making his first ASA National Tour start. The track record of 16.241-seconds, set last year by Reed Sorenson, was never in jeopardy.
Should Pyle be able to hold on for the win, he will collect an additional $5000 bonus for completing the Jani-King Clean Sweep, given to a driver winning the pole and race in the same event.
