Due to rain Saturday’s Kenseth versus Kenseth event at the Madison International Speedway was postponed until Sunday.

Matt Kenseth, a former NASCAR champion and reigning Daytona 500 champ returned to his home state of Wisconsin to race against his 16-year old son Ross and a field of local Late Model drivers in a pair of 50-lap feature races.

It may have been an off week for the NASCAR circuit, but it was not an off day for Kenseth, who bumped, then passed his son for the lead in the opening race. Matt went on to win, with Ross finishing second. In the nightcap, Matt didn’t show any compassion for his son, winning again, with Ross finishing sixth.

After the races, Matt showed compassion for his son, but had this to say about letting the youngster beat him.

“I wouldn’t let anybody beat me. If I wanted to let people beat me, I wouldn’t be doing this for a living. I’m competitive, everybody that races cars is competitive, and would never let anybody else win, so that’s just never gonna happen.”

  1. [...] Last weekend, at Madison International Speedway, Matt competed in the same races as his 16-year-old son, Ross. And Matt gave no quarter as he bumped Ross out of the way to take a win.  LOL…  good life lessons for Ross.  Check out the info on Matt’s fathering skills over at Full Throttle. [...]
