Mauricia Grant With a Spotty Background?
Mauricia Grant who has accused NASCAR of racial discrimination and sexual harassment in a $225 million lawsuit had a restraining order filed against her by a former boyfriend and was arrested for driving under the influence, the Associated Press has learned.
The AP also learned she was charged with driving with a suspended license while still employed as a technical inspector for NASCAR.
In an effort to earn their high priced retainer fees her shysters were quick to issue the following:
“Ms. Grant’s alleged prior actions are totally irrelevant to this suit,” attorney Benedict P. Morelli said in a statement. “NASCAR must obey the law and should focus its full attention on improving the discriminatory and hostile work environment to which employees are subject.”
But I wonder? Her former boyfriend Willie Lowery had this to say when contacted:
“She has made many threats on my life and job. She called my job … up to six times attempting to slander my name and have me fired,” Lowery wrote in his request for protection. “She has been spotted in front of my home on several occasions. She has contacted all of my family and friends attempting to make threats and slander my name. She has also contacted my current girlfriend and I feel she is in jeopardy as well.”
Wanna bet this last piece makes it into trial testimony assuming it gets that far? Wanna also bet NASCAR can prove Lowery or his representatives contacted them about these threats and that’s what led to her firing?
So this justifies the NASCAR scum who exposed themselves? NASCAR has gone off the deep end trying to justify their actions by trying to publicly discredit Grant. NASCAR’s whinings are totally irrelevant to the facts of her claim. I’m not sure which is worse, your complete ignorance of the law or your blatant racist, misogynistic attitude. No wonder the real world looks at NASCAR fans as a bunch of ignorant southern trash.
First of all “Fee,” NASCAR is about as close to the so called “real world” as you can get save for its 8 percent demo of black fans that lags behind the U.S population. You would do well to study the sport’s demo it may assist you in not spreading the “ignorant southern trash” stereotype.
Secondly this post or my previous ones make no remarks or inferences to the two officials that were fired, you’re assumtion that I have justified their actions is FAR off base. And furthermore, that assumption is why those of us that follow the sport feel “your type” use and abuse every chance to cast stones at the sport and those that follow it.
As to my ignorance of the law, while no lawyer, I do know enough that it is common practice, nay LEGAL practice for a defendant to use a plantiff’s past actions.
You may feel her past actions have no relevance to this case, but sadly you’re misguided, she has shown to be an out of control and vindictive personality in the case of her former boyfriend and it may, I repeat it MAY have a direct baring on this current case.
That you don’t see that is YOUR problem, not mine.
