Mayfield Hires “Celebrity Attorney” Mark Geragos
Suspended NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield is turning to high-profile attorney Mark Geragos to help fight his drug suspension.
When contacted Friday by the Associated Press Geragos confirmed that he’s finalizing a deal to represent Mayfield himself out of his Washington, D.C.-based firm Luque Geragos and Marino.
“It’s clear to me that there are real issues here, substantial issues, and I think he’s getting a raw deal,” Geragos said.
Geragos declined to discuss specific issues until he could review the case, citing a protective order that U.S. District Judge Graham Mullen has in place.
Geragos also declined to discuss the financial agreement he’s made with Mayfield which raises the question; Has Geragos taken the case pro bono or has Mayfield found a sugar daddy that will foot the bill?
You also have to wonder why the so-called “maverick lawyer to the rich and famous” Bill Diehl has been sent to the wastebin of history.
Could it be Diehl’s $400 an hour bill, or is it because a member of the Mayfield legal team submitted phony documents to the court?
We’ll probably never know, not that it matters, Geragos has a long hill to climb after all the nonsense Mayfield has spewed out in public.

P.S. Wonder when a ruling will be made and force Mayfield to take a physical exam at NASCAR’s request?
P.P.S. Not to mention, when will the hair follicle test Mayfield promised to take and provide the court? It’s been months his hair must be halfway to his butt by now.
P.P.P.S. Can we expect to see Geragos on Larry King blathering on endlessly about the case? He’s been on King for various cases he’s been part of, or asked to comment on, ad nausea.

This was always going to happen as Mayfield has shown he will say or do anything to overrule NASCAR’s finding.
Ten bucks says he ends up at a Tea Party protest claiming the whole thing is a conspiracy. Mayfield, the Teabaggers & Fox’s Glen Beck…..you heard it here first.

Agreed, leave Beck alone. He may be a bit whacky, but he’s the lone guy in the entire media that’s shows enough interest to unmask some of the nutcakes now in charge.
My God, I’ve been cast in the Keith Olberman role, I’m presuming you attended Beck’s university of “I don’t remember”.
Actually I could handle Keith doing a “worst persons in the world” on motorsport……..but where would he start? Max, Bernie, the Piquet Family, Flavio, the list is as big as the target that is Rush when throwing rocks.
