Morgan Shepherd Wins Aarons 312!
You read that correctly, Morgan Shepherd won the Aarons 312 at Talladega Superspeedway.
Sure he finished 12 places behind the actual winner Tony Stewart. For a driver that hasn’t seen a GREEN flag in Cup since Louden in 2006 and only a single checkered flag in the NNS in eight attempts prior to Talladega it was a WIN. There’s little doubt about it.
If you do have any, please explain how his team in all probability is the only car in either Saturdays’ or Sunday’s events with a special sponsorship by a local Hilton Hotel so they wouldn’t be sleeping in the garage this weekend and NOT be a winner Saturday.
As in everything you can’t have winners, without losers. The 312 had two very distinct ones.
Dario Franchitti not only lost out on a good finish Saturday but lost his ride Sunday after sustaining a fractured left ankle in an accident caused by a shredded rear tire.
The biggest loser on the day… Kevin Lepage who thought “blendline” was what he used so he wouldn’t over-fill his Cuisnart SmartPower Premierâ„¢ 600-Watt Blender instead of a line that keeps chuckleheads from being chuckleheads and taking out 14 race cars.
