In March of this year it was announced that beginning with the 2006 season, the Indy Racing League’s IndyCar Series will be fueled by ethanol. Now, a short two months later, NASCAR is hearing the all too familiar call; “We’re from the Government, and we’re here to help you.”
NASCAR drivers are known for their ability to promote and advertise via their race cars. It is sometimes a joke amongst television commentators and die-hard fans, that a driver can do more promoting of his sponsor from the finish line than any other type of advertising.Now several Midwestern Senators want to tap into NASCAR
I am a senior at Bonneville High School, Utah. I am an experienced racer and being presented a President’s Environmental Youth Award next week in Washington D.C. I would like to challenge NASCAR to consider ethanol, but want to do it in a manner that will not cause any movement towards ethanol to go backwards. I came from racing petroleum, but now race alternative fuels and always invited back. What I am saying here is that I am sensitive to many of the issues at hand and asking for your comments how I may help? Thank you for all that you do, Brent@SaltFlats.com
Brent I’m happy you have had success using alternative fuels but I’m also sure no matter what you do NASCAR won’t be moving in that direction. At least not in this decade.
