NASCAR Forgery?

As normal practice the days following each NASCAR weekend is filled with reports of fines, and or suspensions, for rules in fractions occuring during the previous race.

This week NASCAR dug into the pockets of both Rodney Childers, crew chief for Scott Riggs, and David Hyder, crew chief for Ken Schrader (among others). They were both fined for various offenses considered a detriment to “something or other.”

But, Thomas Harris is another type story altogether. As a member of the Haas/CNC race team he asssists in fielding Cup cars for Jeff Green. Harris has been “suspended indefinitely for duplicating a NASCAR annual credential.”

What the hell is that about!? Who was he trying to sneak “behind the lines,” what was his motivation? I’d love to hear his excuse.

Someone in his position wouldn’t have any trouble, using proper channels, getting access for family members, (even “crazy Uncle Earl”) or friends behind the scenes of an race weekend.

So why the forgery? What the hell was he thinking?
