Will Jimmie repeat? For the last three seasons, the Atlanta winner has also won the Texas race: Jimmie Johnson (2007), Tony Stewart (2006), Carl Edwards (2005). In 2004, Atlanta and Texas were not back-to-back on the Chase schedule.

Good news! Bad news! for Carl Edwards. The good news he won at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, he has 2 wins at the Texas Motor Speedway, he won there in April and he has an average finish of 15.7 at Texas. The bad news…Jimmie Johnson has an average finish of 8.5. I think Jimmie Johnson will win. But if Carl Edwards wins he probably won’t make much of a dent in Jimmie’s point lead.
