Nashville 1 - NASCAR Phenom 0…

Nashville 1 - NASCAR Phenom 0 - Brad Keselowski All The Marbles (and a Guitar!) for the first time.

Brad KeselowskiNASCAR teenage sensation Joey Logano lamented losing the chance of a strong result in his second ever Nationwide Series race following an incident that took him out of contention after leading from pole in the early laps.

Logano dominated the first sixty laps of the race after claiming his first Nationwide Series pole at only his second attempt. However he dropped down the order during a pitstop and he later got spun by Greg Biffle, following a restart on lap 87.

“We had a really good car,” said Logano. “Obviously, we put it on the pole and led the first part of the race there.

We made our green flag stop and were still in the lead. Then, we came in and took those four tires and it put us back there in the trash.”

Wait…, did Logano just call Greg Biffle trash!?

“You got lapped cars that are way slower than you and they’re all sideways. You put stickers on and you’re obviously going to be looser. Somewhere within that mess - I’m not sure what happened behind me but I got tagged in the left rear and around I went.”

Nope, I guess not, he meant trash in a generic sense. (Damn a missed chance at another NASCAR feud!)

Regardless, it was one helluva run for the kid as he ran, and ran… and ran away from the field. Until the inevitable crunch-time with an unforgiving SAFER Barrier.

At the front of the field was Brad Keselowski who bulled his way past series points leader Clint Bowyer with five laps remaining to claim his first NASCAR win of any flavor.

As Keselowski sailed towards his first checkered flag, things got, ahem… “racey” behind him.

David Reutimann was pushed aside by Stremme dropping the #99 Toyota to third and Stremme into second. Bowyer also had contact with Stremme, dropping him to fourth at the finish.

David Ragan continues to prove his worth to Roush-Fenway Racing with a soild drive from 21st to finish fifth.

“To catch that break like I did with Dale (Earnhardt) Jr. and this Navy Chevrolet, it vindicates it,” Keselowski said of the near misses this year. “I’ve got a team that just keeps getting better every week, and I keep getting better every week. I felt like this was just a matter of time.”

That same can be said of the phenom, it’s only a matter of time before Logano isn’t running among the “trash” and scores his first big league win.
