As for the rest, despite the mud bog Kyle found himself in the crowd was treated to yet another patented Busch burnout after his seventh (!) Cup victory.

And ponder this for a second, the Busch bros. have won four straight Cup events (7 of the last 11), Infineon, NHMS, Daytona and tonight at Chicago. Without looking that has to be some kinda record.

Think about what could have been, this may be Kyle’s most important win of the year.

Until the #38 belched it’s innards Johnson was on his way to a win. Instead Kyle pulls one out of his M&M’s bag of tricks and has 70 points entering the Chase if things remain the same. A Johnson win would have meant a 20 point swing come Chase time.

If things stay static Kyle starts with 70, Johnson with zero bonus points in the Chase. And needless to say 10 going on Johnson’s ledger helps everyone else also.
