Nationwide Series: Cash in, Less Cash Out

World of Outlaws star Tim McCreadie had been running the RCR #21 in selected NNS events last year and performed well in January testing at Daytona International Speedway.

The plan was have McCreadie pilot the #21 Chevrolet in selected events as a development driver this year but that plan has gone asunder.

“It’s a sponsorship issue,” said McCreadie, whom Childress hired on the strength of T-Mac’s Chili Bowl Midget Nationals victory in 2006, followed by his World of Outlaws late-model championship last year.

“Right now the car is in limbo, and I’m just kind of bouncing around right now. But if somebody comes along and wants to sponsor the car with me driving it, it’s a done deal. If not, the car likely will be parked for the season after the Talladega race (April 27).”

While waiting Tim has returned to racing in selected World of Outlaw late-model events, driving the Sweeteners Plus car.

The #21 hasn’t been parked as yet, here’s the bit I found interesting, Stephen Leicht is renting the Childress Chevy at $150,000 per race. He’s driven it in two NNS races, earning a total of $55,486 while recording one top-10 finish.

So the end result for the 21 year old rookie is a loss of just under $95,000.

Cash in, and less cash out, but a whole lota valuable experiance.
