NNS Nashville - Ditto!
I think I’ll save myself some trouble and a bit of time.
I’m gonna pre-write the remaining NNS posts all noting a JGR win. Maybe just pull part of this headline, “Ditto,” and add the date.
Ya’ll would know what happened.
With JGR tying RCR for the most owner wins in an NNS season (13) and 15 events left this year all I need to do is write, “DITTO 07/19/08 through DITTO 11/15/08″ and have a damn good chance of being correct.
“It’s definitely an awesome feeling to be here tonight,” Busch said in Victory Lane. “We weren’t that good early in the race, but we made some adjustments, and this car just came to life. “It’s definitely been a phenomenal year,” Busch said. “It’s the kind of thing that doesn’t come along very often”.
Came to life is an under statement, the kid had a 10 second lead at one point. Back in the day when Jack in the Hat placed 5 cars in the Chase I called it the Mongol Hoard.
With Busch claiming his fifth NNS victory (one in the Braun’s #32) and 10th top-10 finish in 19 races and teammate Denny Hamlin chalking up 3 wins and his ninth top-10 in 11 races I’m undecided what to call this group.
The Gibbs Gaggle doesn’t sound intimidating enough. Maybe, given the marquee, the Samurai Warriors.
Or just flat out FAST!
Anyway…Busch grabbed the lead on the 95th lap, held it until a pit stop on the 149th and then regained it five laps later for the remainder of the 200-lap race on the 1.5-mile track.
Denny Hamlin, who started in 41st position, raced his way to a runner-up finish. Brad Keselowski was third.
